Container line operators have a growing need for well performing and reliable container feeder vessels to carry out their services. JR Shipping meets this demand with a fleet of top container vessels offering their charterers an excellent performance.
The container feeder vessels of JR Shipping offer various competitive advantages such as high container stability, attractive service speeds and an optimal loading flexibility. An important part of the fleet meets the highest Swedish-Finnish ice class.
JR Shipping’s fleet policy is aimed at innovation and growth. Expansion of capacity is achieved in two ways:
- developing and ordering new and leading container feeder vessels in order to meet future demands of the industry
- selecting and purchasing existing tonnage with sound track records and lasting competitiveness
The fleet consists of modern container feeder vessels, varying in capacity from around 350 to around 1,050 TEU. This makes JR Shipping a potential business partner in every main container feeder segment. In the course of 2007 and 2008, JR Shipping will take delivery of 6 new ships of 900 TEU each. JR Shipping’s current fleet’s purchase price amounts to around € 386 million.
